Bob Rogers is a trombonist who has lived in Revelstoke since 1993, where he has taught music for 25 years. During that time he has been a regular member of the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, and has also performed many times with the Kamloops Symphony and the Symphony of the Kootenays. Bob is also the leader of the Bob Rogers Jazz Quartet and a member of the funk band Majesty, and also plays regularly with various ensembles throughout the Okanagan and Kootenays. Before moving to the interior, Bob was active a freelance musician in Vancouver, and performed with many groups there including the West Coast Jazz Orchestra, VEJI, Solid Brass, and artists and bands and artists such as Natalie Cole, the Temptations and the O'Jays, the Victoria Symphony and the Vancouver Opera.
Bob will be joined for this show by the fabulous trumpeter Donnie Clark. Donnie has enjoyed a long career as one of Canada's leading trumpet players. As a player, arranger, and composer on the West Coast since the early 1960s, he has been leadr of the Donnie Clark Quartet and Quintet, the Don Clark Ragtime Band as well as a member of the Bobby Hales Orchestra, the West Coast Jazz Orchestra and a regular on CBC Radio and Television. He was also a member of the legendary Vancouver all-star Jazz sextet Pacific Salt, touring throughout North America and Europe in the 1970s.
Bob and Donnie will be joined by some of the Okanagan's finest musicians - Jordan Dick, guitar, Brian McMahon, bass and Scott Gamble, drums. Coming together as "Standard Time," the band will be performing a selection of their favourite standard tunes from the great jazz composers and the Great American Songbook.
