This week, the Kris Ruston Trio performs at the Jazz Club. The group includes Kris Ruston (guitar), Alex Ward (organ/bass) and Jared Wilman (drums). Born and raised in Kamloops BC, Kris is a multi-instrumentalist who has performed with various ensembles in the BC Interior and West Coast for over 25 years. His time at Capilano University in the early 2000s allowed him the opportunity to study jazz with some of the finest players in the country. His trio performs a mix of standard and contemporary pieces, along with some original material that is sure to please.
