FEATURING:
Craig Thomson - saxophone
Tim Hirtz - piano
Bernie Addington - bass
Michael Treadway - drums
This week’s show brings another great group from the Okanagan, led by brilliant, Kelowna-based saxophonist Craig Thomson. You may recall Craig from a Jazz Club show last year, when he performed the music of Hank Mobley from the Album “Soul Station”. This year, he brings us the music of John Coltrane from his 1989 album, “Coltrane Plays the Blues”.
Craig is a prolific performer, composer, recording artist and educator. He has built a reputation as an outstanding saxophonist who delights audiences with his robust, muscular tenor sound, which is fresh and exciting while maintaining a sense of being richly anchored in the jazz tradition. Whether in the field of jazz performance or education, Craig Thomson’s name is synonymous with warmth, excellence, style and sophistication. For additional details check out his website.
With Craig at the helm and a great rhythm section behind him, this year’s Jazz Club performance will be one you won’t want to miss.
