The Jazz Club presents The Groovineers, a Revelstoke-based band whose sound is rooted in jazz with blues, rock and groove influences. The group includes Darcy Purcell (guitar), Matt Yaki (drums), Dave Marfleet (bass) and Carl Laurence (horns and keys). Matt and Dave come from the Jazz Program at Humber College in Toronto and have established themselves as a fine rhythm team, combining well with Darcy's mostly self-taught approach to guitar. Carl, from Revelstoke but now residing in Nelson, fills out the rest with tasteful horn playing and keyboard riffs.
