The Salmon Arm Jazz Club relaxes things for its sixth show of the season. A house band of local improvisational talent assembles Thursday, November 24th for a classic jazz jam night. Those familiar with these “blowin’ sessions” will know it’s anyone’s guess what might happen, and the results are often unusual and exciting as the players explore new boundaries.
The session is loosely planned, with instruments, musicians, and jazz charts called on the spot. Expect thrills, chills, spills and some delights and surprises as off the cuff improvisations fly. Jake McIntyre-Paul will lead the session and keep things on the rails with his rock steady bass work. Rumour has it legendary local drummer, Brian Pratt-Johnson will be in the house, and pianist Colin Spence is also hinting at an appearance after an extended break from playing. There's only one way to find out who else will play and what’s in store — be there!
